To mark the eighth anniversary of being at the helm of the Central government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today introduced several schemes through the PM Cares Fund, aimed at helping the country’s children in need. Through this scheme, PM Modi announced a grant of Rs4,000 per month for children who lost their parents to Coronavirus. This assistance will be provided from various sources so as to help kids meet their daily needs.
Furthermore, children who lost their parents to Corona at the age of 23 will be provided financial assistance of Rs1 million, for their college and higher education. They will also be eligible for scholarship of Rs20,000 in school.
Meanwhile, these children will be able to participate directly in Khelo India, will be included in the Fit India Movement and also participate in Yoga Day. The scheme covers the period from 11 March 2020 to 28 February 2022. The child who loses one of the parents during this period will get this benefit.
PM Modi also said that PM Cares Fund will also provide assistance to those who need an educational loan for a professional course. In addition, the Modi government has announced stipends for youngsters aged between 18 and 23. Scholarships will be transferred to school going children during the event. Along with this, PM Cares Passbook and Health Card of Living India will also be provided to these children.
It has been eight years since the Narendra Modi government came to power in 2014. Since returning to power in 2019, the Modi government has embarked on some key agendas. But the government is facing a number of challenges at home and abroad in the second term. These challenges range from stabilizing the economy to improving the agricultural sector. Apart from this, the deteriorating political and economic situation in Pakistan and Sri Lanka has also become a matter of concern for India. The Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM Cares Fund) was launched in March 2020, following the COVID-19 pandemic in India. The key focus of the fund is to combat and contain the spread of coronavirus and also aid in its relief efforts. The fund will assist the people of the country who have been left distraught due to the pandemic. The fun will also be used in future outbreaks of such diseases.
