The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) today gave a clean chit to Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in the drug case against him. The police had taken Aryan Khan in to custody in October last year, along with several others, for possessing narcotics. The NCB is filing complaints against 14 people, but dropping the case against 6 others, including Khan, due to lack of sufficient evidence.
In a statement, NCB said, “Special Investigation Team (SIT) carried out its investigation in an objective manner. The touchstone of the principle of proof beyond reasonable doubt has been applied. Based on the investigation carried out by SIT, a complaint against 14 persons under various sections of NDPS Act is being filed. Complaint against rest 6 persons is not being filed due to lack of sufficient evidence.”
According to the authorities, narcotics were found on all of the accused except for Aryan Khan and one other person.
“Initially, the case was investigated by NCB Mumbai. Later an SIT from NCB New Delhi, headed by Sanjay Kumar Singh, DDG (Ops), was constituted to investigate the case, which was taken over by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on 06.11.2021,” the NCB statement said.
In October 2021, Aryan Khan had been detained by the NCB on the Cordelia Cruises’ Empress ship in high-profile Mumbai drug bust case. Aryan’s friends had also been taken into custody. Aryan was booked under the NDPS Act’s Sections 8C, 20B, 27 and 35.
