PM Modi addressed the Indian diaspora in Tokyo, Japan. On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida invited him to Japan for the Quad Summit 2022. He emphasised the long-term connections and diplomatic relations between India and Japan during his speech.
PM Modi began his speech by mentioning the seven decades of relations between India and Japan. He called the two countries ‘natural partners’ and described the role of Japan in India’s development. He said, “Our relationship with Japan is different from the rest of the world. It’s of Buddha, meditation, and knowledge. The path shown by Buddha can save the world from anarchy, terrorism, and climate change.”
PM Modi mentioned the long-term linkage between India and Japan. As he cited India’s recent infrastructural developments, he said, “I’m glad that Japan has contributed toward India’s growth. From the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail to the Delhi-Mumbai corridor, Japan has always helped India.”
‘Modi Hai Toh Mumkin Hai’ Chants In Japan
Prime Minister Modi appreciated the new and improved democratic system of India. He felt ecstatic in exclaiming that women in India vote more than men. Modi also applauded the Indian Banking System. Later, he informed the gathering that India makes 40% of the world’s digital transactions. Meanwhile, the entire hall burst with ‘Modi Hai Toh Mumkin Hai’ chants.
Further, he acknowledged India’s 75th year as an independent nation. He also asserted, “We are well aware of our next 25 years’ vision, after which India will celebrate its 100th Independence day. One day we will witness the India of our dreams.” The Prime Minister of India mentioned the supply chain several times during his speech. He added, “Today, everything we produce in India is in global demand. Khadi, which used to be a costume for Indian politicians, is globally trending.”
NaMo reminisced Swami Vivekanand’s quote, “Every Indian must visit Japan once in his life.” After saying this, he urged the Japanese youth, who developed Japan with their positive efforts, to visit India once during their lifetime. Modi also quoted Rabindranath Tagore, who said, “Japan is both modern and ancient at the same time.”
Lastly, he expressed his gratitude toward the Indian diaspora for gathering in large numbers and upholding the Indian culture in Japan.
