He has the looks of the innocent lover-boy and an action quotient that belies an Oriental-Holly jargon. What then could be the reason that Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu (aka Namrata Shirodkar’s husband) remains out of Bollydom??
“The Hindi film industry cannot afford me. Hence, I do not want to waste my time in Mumbai,” shared the actor, during a trailer launch of Adivi Sesh’s Major.
His forthcoming, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, directed by Parasuram Petla is all set to hit theatres on May 12. When asked about the OTT foray, he stated: “I think big screen and me fit well. I do not want to change my path and test waters in digital territory.”
According to the Sarileru Neekevvaru actor: “I did receive offers for a Hindi movie. However, I have reason to believe that Bollywood cannot afford me. I don’t want to squander my time in an industry that can’t afford me. The stardom and respect I receive here [in the South] are enormous. Why would I want to leave all this? “
Mahesh Babu was last seen in the 2020 film Sarileru Neekevvaru. He is soon to collaborate with director SS Rajamouli on an adventure thriller.
