A versatile actor as much as a style diva, Deepika Padukone is India’s sole representation on the jury board at the 75th Cannes Film Festival. Deepika left Mumbai late last night for the French Riviera for the two-week cine fest, scheduled from May 16 to May 28.
The distinguished panel also comprises Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi, Swedish actress Noomi Rapace, actress screenwriter producer Rebecca Hall, Italian actress Jasmine Trinca, French director Ladj Ly, American director Jeff Nichols and Norwegian director Joachim Trier. The eight-member jury, helmed French actor Vincent Lindon, will review and award global films that look to push the creative barriers and promote the film industry development.
Back home, Deepika’s upcoming projects include the SRK-starrer Pathaan, Fighter with Hrithik Roshan, Project K with Prabhas and a remake of The Intern with Amitabh Bachchan. In the pipeline, is also a home production that the actor has so far been tight-lipped about.
