On Monday morning, two tremors of magnitude 4 and 3.2 jolted a village in Gujarat’s Gir Somnath district, officials said.
Residents of Talala village, located 25 kilometers from the district headquarters Veraval, awoke from their sleep and fled their homes after feeling the tremors, but there were no reports of casualties or property damage, according to the district administration.
The first 4.0 magnitude tremor was recorded at 6.58 a.m., with its epicentre 13 kilometers north-northeast of Talala village, according to the Gandhinagar-based Institute of Seismological Research (ISR).
Another tremor of 3.2 magnitude was recorded at 7.04 a.m., with the epicentre nine kilometers north-northeast of Talala, according to the ISR.
