Minister of State for Home in Gujarat government, Harsh Sanghavi said that Gujarat police seized drugs meant to be sent to Punjab, Mahrashtra and Rajasthan.
While making a statement on drugs at the Global Patidar business summit, the minister said that Gujarat Police is working with a sense of social responsibility.He said that for a long time now, Gujarat Police and the Coast Guard have been seizing consignments meant to be sent by drug mafias. They are trying to break the nexus of sending drugs worth crores of rupees by sea to Gujarat and then to other states of the country. Sanghvi further said that the government is working to make the state safer.
He said that the drugs that have been seized now are those that have never been seized before. The minister said that the drugs mafia is scared of Gujarat Police which has also uncovered a conspiracy of smuggling drugs across the border into Pakistan.
