Hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Jammu and Kashmir today, a blast has been reported in Laliana village. The site of the blast is just 12 km away from where PM Modi’s rally will happen.
The police arrived at the scene and has began investigation of the incident. “We were notified of the incident of the blast. We are seeking further details in the matter as we have begun investigation.”
Sources however said that the blast is unlikely to be terror related. It could be a meteorite or lightning, they said.
PM Modi is expected to be the state today and the rally will happen in Palli Panchayat of Samba district of Jammu division. He will address Gram Sabhas across the country on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day.
Furthermore, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of over Rs20,000 crore development projects in Jammu and Kashmir. Some of the projects are Banihal-Qazigund road tunnel, the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway and the Ratle and Kwar hydroelectric projects.
