Seems the XE variant is making a stealth rise. On Wednesday, Ahmedabad reported six new cases, taking the active caseload in the city to 50. Across the state, the new case count was 13, taking the active tally to 92. According to the state health department, the number of fully vaccinated people in the state stands at 5.06 crore.
The officials have maintaining a strict vigil as Gandhinagar, Vadodra, Jamnagar, Dang and Gir Somnath reported a case each. On the other hand, two cases were reported from Anand.
With 2,380 new coronavirus infections recorded in a single day, India’s total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 4,30,49,974, with 13,433 active cases, according to figures published on Thursday by the Union Health Ministry.

According to the ministry, active cases account for 0.03 percent of total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate remains at 98.76 percent. In the last 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload has grown by 1,093 cases.
