After three and a half-hour-long meeting with the top leaders of the Congress party on Saturday, poll strategist Prashant Kishor is expected to work with the Congress party for the next general elections of the year 2024.
According to the sources, PK in the meeting opined that Congress needs to focus to fight on the seats that are their significant and stronghold parliamentary constituencies rather than investing the party’s efforts and resources in the pointless seats.
Pointing out the Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh elections, PK suggested that the opposition should keep states and regional allies in the center as one of the key things as in both the state, despite a tough fight, the eventual outcome favored the BJP. Both the parties, the Congress and the BJP lacked a strong narrative for the elections of the states like West Bengal and that shall be a key point to be focused on, PK added, informed the sources.
The meeting was attended by the Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Mallikarjun Kharge, Digvijaya Singh, Ambika Soni and Ajay Maken. Concluding his presentation, PK asked the leaders present to give a thought to the presentation and in the coming days, they would arrange a meeting once again.
In past, Prashant Kishor has run the winning election campaigns for the YSR Congress in Andhra Pradesh in 2019, Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi in 2020 and Trinamool Congress in West Bengal in 2021.
