– Jaayaz Hatyare – A Hindi Play
Adaptation of french drama Les Justes by French writer and philosopher Albert Camus, Jaayaz Hatyare is a play Adapted by Suresh Bhardwaj and Deepa Sahi in hindi, Jaayaz Hatyare is based on a group of five revolutionaries who decide to bomb the governer of the East India Company and who end up dealing with the philosophical dilemmas of the assassination.
However, what adds depth to the story are the unsaid, unspoken words that flow in the form of emotions. The conflict of emotions and ideologies between the freedom fighters and the psychological dilemma that they go through in accomplishing the task of killing the governor.
What makers have tried to achieve in this show is to:
1) Make the audience feel, re-live the lives of those freedom fighters, what all they had to go through in order to free India and the price they paid.
2) Make the audience feel the choice and consequences of taking decisions, be it tough or easy.
3) And a question in the end, that are we as citizens justifying our freedom or have we taken it for granted?
