Ever feel like wearing a Sombrero and gorging on a taco on the beach? Or craving something that isn’t Italian, Indian or Chinese? “Mexicano By The Bay” is the new address in Amdavaad for vegetarian Mexican delicacies.
This resto-cafe at riverfront house promises to leave you asking for more. The ambience, menu and feel have been carefully curated to lend a Spanish feel while the live music gallery croons to the peppy tunes from the land.
Here’s our suggestion for the must-try items:
Pineapple Chili Lemonade: This never-relished-before version of the lemonade rocks between a sweet, tangy and pepper doused mix. For added volume, the drink has crunchy jalapenos stirred in.
Cookie Cream Frappe: Delicious to slurp on and no less a visual treat, this beverage comes with a layer of whipped cream on top sprinkled with nuts and cookies.
Spinach Coconut Soup: A creamy blend of coconut milk with a hint of celery and spice.
Loaded Nachos With Mexican Tostada:
Mexican cuisine is incomplete without nachos. Loaded Nachos is the perfect entrée to whet your appetite for the main course. Tostada, a crunchy base that is either baked or fried, is layered with vegetables such as guacamole and capsicum. It can also be customised as per a Jain palate. The top has a generous drizzle with sour cream cheese.
Bhoot Jholaka Fries: This variation of fries comes with a dip and a warning bell because it is so spicy!! Try this one at your own risk!!
Enchanting Enchiladas: Baked with vegetables, corn, cheese and love, this main course is the specialty of Mexicano By The Bay. It has a light spicy taste and filling quantity.
Sizzler Dos: This rice-based sizzler with tofu, cheese and sprinkled nachos, is the highlight of the main course menu.
Mexican Churros with Melted Chocolate: Yum yum!! It is an entirely different experience to relish this mouth-watering dessert at the riverfront on a weekend. You can ask for a table looking at the riverfront, enjoy the view and the dessert!

“People of Gujarat welcome all varieties of food with an open heart because of their loving nature. They are willing to adapt to the dish and then have the entrepreneurial knack to customise it according to their preference. That is when I realised the need for a place to head to when Mexicana is what you are craving!!” he says, adding that the location is the cherry on the top!
