The four-time IPL title winner Chennai Super Kings (CSK) led by Ravindra Jadeja will lock horns with newbie Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Thursday at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. Both teams had lost their opening games of IPL 2022.
Chennai Super Kings have the best winning percentage in the IPL so far. The four-time champions have won 117 out of their 195 games and have a winning percentage of 60.30. They are followed by Mumbai Indians who have a winning percentage of 58.52. No team has won more games (127) and more titles (5) than Mumbai in the IPL.
Super Kings is known for their being calm and composed nature irrespective of the results. Even though they were defeated by the Kolkata Knight Riders in their first match, MS Dhoni struck an unbeaten 50 off 38 balls. Also, Dwayne Bravo picked up 3 for 20 from four overs. Both have retired from international cricket and their striking form straightaway is a good sign for the franchise.
Lucknow Super Giants will once again be without Jason Holder, who will only be available from their next match. There is no official word on Andrew Tye though. If available, he could replace Mohsin Khan given they had picked only three overseas players in their last game. In fact, Super Giants’ captain KL Rahul responded to their debut match defeat by Gujarat Giants that they “couldn’t have started the campaign in any better way”.
