Congress legislators came to protest aggressively against the BJP led state government’s action of denying the Gujarat youth congress to hold the protest rally up to sachivalaya on Monday. The Gujarat Youth Congress had planned to organise a ‘Yuva Swabhiman Sammelan’ at Satyagrah Chhavni in Gandhinagar on Monday to protest against paper leaks and unemployment.
Leader of Opposition Sukhram Rathva said that we asked the Chief Minister to break his silence and take necessary actions against the government exam paper leak. Then he got up and walked away. So we have to protest against this shameless government.
During the budget session, Congress MLA Ganiben Thakore and other congress legislators came over to the front of the assembly hall and shouted slogans. Soon the legislators were picked up by the house sergeants and moved out of the house. Simultaneously, the 15-minute House proceedings were forced to close.
Attacking the government, Congress MLA Amit Chavda said that not once or twice but fourteen times the question papers of different departments of the government leaked.
“This is destroying the future of the youth”, he added.
Sufficient efforts were made by Congress to encircle the BJP government on paper leaks, employment and other issues. The permission to hold dharna was not approved by the Police. Eventually, the police detained Congress leaders and activists. For this, intensive vehicle inspection was also carried out by the police on the vehicles entering the city. In Gandhinagar, Congress workers, including Congress leader Hardik Patel and independent MLA Jignesh Mewani, were detained before reaching the planned Yuva Swabhiman Sammelan.
On Sunday, aspirants across the state appeared for the forest guard recruitment exam around 12 pm. Hardly an hour into the exam, pictures of an answer key surfaced on social media. According to the police, one of the candidates at a centre in Mehsana was allegedly caught by the invigilator with an answer key paper. The centre was identified as Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in Unava village under Unjha tehsil.
The Mehsana police claimed that they have detained six people from the exam centre and claimed it to be a “copying” case rather than a paper leak.
