Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the ‘Seema Bhavani Shourya Expedition’-‘Empowerment Ride’ of Border Security Force’s women personnel from BSF Gujarat Headquarters in Gandhinagar. When the women bikers team of BSF reached their Gujarat headquarters. CM Patel wished them success and flagged them off for the next departure.
The adventurous journey of 35 daredevil women bikers started on International Women’s Day from India Gate, New Delhi. These six bikers will reach Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on March 20 after covering a distance of 5280 KMs.
CM Patel on the occasion lauded ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ celebrated this year with the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He described these women bikers as a leading symbol of empowered women and strength, who are reviving the unity and integrity of the country.
The Chief Minister attributed the success of the increasing participation of women in the defense sector and security forces in the country to the encouragement and guidance of PM Modi. He said that the participation of women in the country’s police force and central security force has doubled in the last three years. The number of women personnel was 1 lakh five thousand in 2016 which has become two lakh 15 thousand in 2020.
Bhupendra Patel congratulated Royal Enfield motorcycle rider BSF women for their unparalleled adventure and prowess. Gujarat DGP Ashish Bhatia and Inspector General of BSF Gyanendrasinh Malik and other officers of the BSF were also present.
