To celebrate the spirit of womanhood National Academy of Direct Taxes came together on Tuesday morning 7am for a ‘Women Empowerment Walk’. The chief guest for the event was Nimaben Acharya, speaker Gujarat Assembly. She flagged off the walk from Riverfront House, Ahmedabad and said, “All the power we need is already within us; all we need is to recognise it. I’m grateful to the Income Tax department and to the police force for organising an event to celebrate women and their work.”
The event was graced by Pravin Kumar- Director General of Income Tax (Investigation), Ahmedabad, Sanjay Srivastava- Commissioner of Police, Satinder Singh Rana- Chief Commissioner of Income Tax-I, Ahmedabad and other dignitaries.
The event was organised by NADT ,Regional campus and women from both income tax department and police department participated in it. The organising team involved Virendra Ojha, Additional Director General, National Academy of Direct Taxes, Regional Campus, Ahmedabad, Pallavi, Additional Director, National Academy of Direct Taxes, Regional campus, Ahmedabad and Ananya Kulshreshtha DDIT, NADT Regional campus, Ahmedabad.
The theme for the event was ‘Break the Bias’. Ahmedabad police commissioner Sanjay Srivastava, a 1987 batch IPS officer also graced the event with over 50 officers from Gujarat–who participated in the 5km walk.
The event began with an inspirational skit on the theme of International Women’s Day and the team of the National Academy of Direct Taxes also came up with a magazine of poems, articles and content around the theme.
The work of women IRS and police officers who work relentlessly despite their demanding jobs were celebrated. All women who participated in the walk received medals.
