The 75th year of Independence will see the commencement of Metro Train in the city. Construction has started on a 40-kilometer route for metro trains in Phase-1 of the city, which is now nearing completion. The Metro train is expected to be fully operational by August. A trial run has been commenced by GMRC technical experts in the North South Corridor from Gyaspur Depot to Shreyas Crossing Station. The pretesting work has been started as well.
Metro was being tested on the route from Gyaspur depot to Shreyas crossing on Monday. Other technical matters including track, signal system, metro train were inspected during the pretesting. There are four stations APMC, Jivraj Park, Rajivnagar and Shreyas Crossing on the route from Gyaspur Depot to Shreyas Crossing.
The operation of these four stations is in the final stages. With the completion of the station, the pre-testing will be completed. The Metro will be launched only after receiving the MRS certificate and the Metro train is expected to be launched by August, 2022.
