Gujarat recorded 3,897 coronavirus cases today – a drop from yesterday’s tally of 813 – and 19 deaths in the last 24 hours. With 19 Covid-19 fatalities, the cumulative number of deaths climbed to 10,667 in Gujarat, the state health department said in a release.
Six people who succumbed to the infection were from Ahmedabad. Vadodara (4), Surat (2), Rajkot (2), Bhavnagar (2).
Besides 19 deaths, as many as 225 Covid-positive patients are on ventilator support in Gujarat. The state has been reporting over 20 fatalities each day since January 24.
With today’s update of daily cases, the state’s active cases tally stood at 44,618.
Ahmedabad city remained the biggest contributor with 1,263 cases. Other major contributors include Vadodara (777), Mehsana ( 186) and Surat (147)
