The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Sunday conducted a retest of the NEET-UG examination for 1,563 candidates at six centres in four states and a Union Territory. 813 out of 1,563 applicants showed up for a retest today, while 750 candidates did not take the exam.
The examination was held following the NTA’s withdrawal of the grace marks granted to students who were compensated for the loss of time as a result of the exam’s delayed start at six locations in Meghalaya, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and Chandigarh.
Two students were supposed to retake the NEET-UG in Chandigarh, but they did not show up at the exam centre.
A retest was planned for 602 aspirants in Chhattisgarh, where the exam was to be conducted at two different centres. Out of 602,. only 291 candidates showed up for today’s exam.
Arrangements have been made for 494 candidates at two examination centres in Haryana. 287 of these students showed up for the test. While in Meghalaya, 234 out of 464 eligible candidates took the test today.
A retest for a single candidate was conducted in Gujarat.
Following the order from the Supreme Court, the NTA withdrew the compensatory marks given to these candidates.
The NTA-established committee made the decision to cancel the scorecards of these 1,563 aspirants and provided them with the opportunity to retake the exam as a solution. The date of the re-examination was set for June 23.
Before June 30, the results for the same will be made public.
