A day after the State reported a sharp decrease in daily Covid cases, Tuesday saw the dip in daily cases as well, as a daily tally stood at 2502. For the past few days, Covid numbers in the State have been decreasing.
New Covid cases declined to 2502 from 2909 reported on Monday, a dip of 407 cases within a day.
Monday saw the daily Covid deaths at 21 in the State, whereas it has increased to 28 on Tuesday. These deaths were reported from Ahmedabad 6, Vadodara 3, Surat 2, Mehsana 2, and Rajkot 4.
The number of active cases in the State is 33,631. A total of 199 people in the State are on a ventilator.
While Ahmedabad city remained the biggest contributor with 874 cases, other major contributors include Vadodara with 404 cases, Vadodara rural with 142 cases, Surat with 87 cases, Rajkot with 55 cases, and Gandhinagar with 94 cases. These six regions made up for 70% of the Covid cases recorded today.

According to Central Government data, Active Cases in India as of 8th February are 9,94,891. Whereas daily new cases in the last 24 hours, India stood at 67,587, and the daily positivity rate of India stood at 5.02 percent. Over 74.29 crore COVID Tests have been conducted so far in India.
