A class 11 student, aged 15, was allegedly raped twice by an 18-year-old boy, a resident of Lohanagar area in Rajkot. She came to know him through a social media platform, Snapchat.
A complaint was filed against the accused by the girl’s father at Gandhigram Police Station under Sections 64(2)(M), 65(1), 77, 351(3) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences(Pocso) Act and the Information Technology Act.
As per the reports, the two first connected on Snapchat after the accused sent her a friend request, leading to frequent communication.
According to the FIR, the accused befriended the girl, gained her trust and took advantage of it. He, later, visited the girl’s school and on February 5, went to her house when she was home alone.
He allegedly forced himself on her against her will. He asked for sexual favours and forced her to perform a sex act, despite the girl’s refusal. Subsequently, he threatened to kill her, in case, she told anyone about the incident, stated the FIR.
Meanwhile, he secretly recorded a compromising video of the minor and forwarded it to her mobile two days later, blackmailing her further.
According to police sources, the accused is employed at a private company in Morbi and travels regularly between Rajkot and Morbi.
On February 13, when the girl was home alone, the accused allegedly assaulted her another time, forcing himself on her despite her unwillingness.
The issue came to light when the girl shared it with her family, following a complaint being reported to the police.
