‘Jodhaa Akbar’, the iconic film starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai, has completed 17 years since its release. To mark the occasion, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will host a special screening of the film in March.
Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, the film chronicles the historical alliance between Mughal Emperor Akbar and Rajput princess Jodhabai. Featuring performances by Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai, the film has remained vital in Indian cinema.

The Academy recently exhibited Aishwarya Rai’s wedding lehenga from the film in its Color in Motion exhibition, curated by costume designer Neeta Lulla. The special screening will take place in Los Angeles, recognising the film’s lasting impact on global audiences.
Renowned for its cinematography, elaborate costumes, and memorable soundtrack, ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ garnered international recognition, further establishing Indian cinema’s presence on the global stage.
The film’s scale and performances reinforced Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai’s stature in Bollywood while highlighting India’s historical narratives.
